U.S. State Department's Passport Intentions Revealed

Back on February 24, the Department of State quietly submitted a "60-Day Notice of Proposed Information Collection: DS-5513, Biographical Questionnaire for U.S. Passport, 1405-XXXX" notice into the Federal Registry to allow 60 days of public comment.

The State Department is proposing a new 'biographical questionnaire' to replace the traditional passport application. The new form would require providing answers to the following type of intrusive inquiries:

  • your mother's residence one year before your birth mother's place of employment at the time of your birth; dates of employment; name of employer; address of employer
  •  did your mother receive pre-natal or post-natal medical care?
  • describe the circumstances of your birth including the names (as well as address and phone number, if available) of persons present or in attendance at your birth:
  • list all of your residences inside and outside of the United States starting with your birth until the present.
  • list all of your current and former places of employment in the United States and abroad.

If there is any question left in your mind that the US .gov types do not want Americans to leave the United States, this should remove all doubt.

When I read this, I thought, we truly live in Bizarro's World. The people who conjure up these new rules and questionaires are pathological.

Our motto here at FleeAmerica has always been" Flee while you still can." This is just another example of why you should take that advice seriously.

We are working hard to provide you with the information you need to find a place to flee to.
